FAQ's

Why provide access to Denplan for Schools?
Denplan for Schools provides bursars, matrons, teaching staff and parents with the peace of mind that a pupil can access a private dentist quickly in the event of a worldwide dental accident or emergency, and the eligible costs incurred can be recoverable. This represents excellent value for money as it only costs parents around the price of a new toothbrush every term.

Will the school receive any reimbursement for administering the scheme?
Denplan For Schools requires virtually no administration, however the school will receive an administration fee, to cover postage costs, for each pupil taking up the plan. Our Denplan for Schools Account Consultant can give you more information on this.

In the event of a dental accident or emergency, is the school required to administer the claim?
No, it is a straightforward process between the Policyholder and Denplan. A claim form needs to be completed after the dentist appointment and sent to Denplan. The claim will then be assessed in accordance with the policy terms and conditions.

When is a pupil covered by Denplan for Schools?
Denplan for Schools covers a pupil for eligible dental treatment, necessary as a result of a worldwide dental accident or emergency, every day of the year.

In the event of a dental accident or emergency, can a pupil see any dentist?
Yes, Denplan for Schools allows a pupil to see a dentist of choice in the event of an accident or emergency.

Doesn't the parent/guardian's Personal Accident policy cover their child?
No, not normally. Personal Accident plans will usually only cover pupils if they lose a permanent tooth. Denplan for Schools covers eligible dental treatment, necessary as a result of a worldwide dental accident or emergency, and can help to source a convenient practice.

Why provide access to Denplan for Schools, when pupils can receive dental treatment free of charge?
In the event of a dental accident or emergency, it’s not always so easy to access an NHS dentist quickly, and private treatment can prove very expensive. Sourcing a dentist abroad may also prove very expensive. Denplan for Schools is designed to reimburse parents for eligible costs incurred.

Will pupils be covered for their routine dental care?
No. Denplan for Schools covers dental treatment, necessary as a result of a worldwide dental accident or emergency. However, if you are considering preventive dental care for your child, please ask your dentist about registering for other Denplan products.
